Kirkland receives about 36 inches of rain annually, mostly between October and March with peak rainfall from November through January according to city climate records causing saturated ground that softens untreated posts, fosters moss growth, and shifts glacial soil, while occasional hard freezes repeatedly push posts out of plumb. Additionally, elevation changes from 14 feet along Lake Washington to 500 feet in the hills require stepped or racked fence lines. Our team builds specifically for these conditions using deep-set pressure-treated posts over gravel drainage, corrosion-resistant stainless or coated fasteners, and proper panel spacing for airflow. As Pacific Wood and Iron notes, even corrosion-resistant metals rely on protective oxide films and correct fastener pairings in persistent moisture, which is why we customize our material approach for every property.
Tall, tightly boarded designs that turn patios and backyards into private retreats, framed and braced so they stand firm against wind-driven rain without loosening.
Galvanized, budget-friendly, and quick to install, making them the go-to choice for dog runs, play areas, sports courts, and school grounds, with privacy slats available where screening is wanted.
Decorative, rust-free metal fencing that frames gardens, pools, and front entries with a polished look. Aluminum’s natural resistance to corrosion, as Fence Specialties explains, makes it a favorite wherever moisture is a constant.
Classic cedar and pressure-treated pine builds, from picket to horizontal slat styles, sealed and fastened specifically for long life in a damp Northwest climate.
Split-rail, post-and-rail, and woven wire systems suited to the equestrian properties near Bridle Trails, hobby farms, and spacious garden plots.
These versatile barriers are installed with specialized bracing to maintain structural integrity, offering a long-lasting, weather-resistant finish that stays pristine regardless of the intense seasonal climate.
Security chain link, ornamental metal, dumpster enclosures, and access gates built to code for offices, retail centers, warehouses, and multifamily communities.
Kirkland blends quiet residential streets, a growing downtown condo district, equestrian acreage, and a commercial base anchored by major employers. Homeowners usually want backyards sealed off for kids and dogs, private zones around pools and spas, or a sharper look facing the street. Property managers and business owners need dependable perimeters, controlled gate access, tidy equipment screening, and materials that demand little upkeep. Among Kirkland, WA fencing companies, our crew stands apart by matching the material to the job: vinyl and aluminum where appearance leads, chain link where coverage and budget matter most, and wood where warmth and full privacy win the day.
As the wood fence builders Kirkland, WA trusts with sloped and shoreline lots, we start every project on foot. Our crew verifies property lines, flags underground utilities, studies drainage, and measures grade changes so panels step cleanly down hillsides. Posts are set below the depth where local frost can heave them, concrete is crowned to shed water away from the base, and each gate receives reinforced framing and adjustable hardware. That level of care is what keeps a fence looking right through its tenth winter, not just its first.
The right builder makes the difference between a fence that fades in five years and one that performs for decades. Here is what local clients count on from us:

We had an old fence that was falling apart. After getting estimates and reading reviews/looking at pictures, I felt Monkey Fence was more in line with my budget and what I was looking for… a solid, nice looking fence with a sliding gate. The crew worked hard, made sure to keep in contact with me on various decisions along the way and I’m very pleased with the end result. Thank you!Posted on Google![]()

About a week after the fence waa installed wee noticed missing nails and cracked boards. We called Monkey Fence they came out a few weeks later and fixed those issues. About another 2 weeks passed and one of the fence sections had come loose from the post. Called again, had an appt. For repair....was ghosted! Can't get anyone out here to fix the problem...apparently they're so busy. I paid my money now I'm not important anymore. They say they do professional and expert work.....so why are we at this point. Angry and disappointed 😞Posted on Google![]()

Recently had Monkey Fence do a complete replacement of my fence and I couldn’t be happier! The price point was great and the quality of work was amazing. Provided a longer warranty than the other vendors I had provide quotes and they were quick to respond to both quote and the work. They took down the old fence and put up the new within two days. During the process they also suggested minor improvements they could implement and truly went above and beyond. Super satisfied with the finished product and the entire process that went into it. Highly recommend.Posted on Google![]()

Pricing depends on linear footage, material, terrain, and gate selections. We measure on-site and provide a free itemized estimate so you can compare options with real numbers.
Vinyl and powder-coated aluminum need the least upkeep, while sealed cedar and pressure-treated wood perform well when posts are set in concrete with proper drainage. We recommend the best fit for your budget and style.
Many residential fences under six feet tall do not require a permit, though height, placement, and corner-visibility rules still apply. We stay current with local requirements and flag anything needing approval before construction starts.
Most residential projects in this area are completed efficiently, with timelines depending on the size and complexity of the layout required for your specific property.
Not with our method. We use treated or cedar posts set in concrete above a gravel base and crown the concrete so water drains away from the wood, which is the strongest defense against underground rot.
